Deep Water Adaptation (2022): Everything We Know So Far About The Thrilling New Movie
The Deep Water adaptation, based on the book by Patricia Highsmith, has been full of drama. From the stars dating during filming, to a last minute pull from theaters for a streaming release, this movie barely made it to release. And it did not fare much better after being released to the world.
This is not a project that will go down in history as a successful adaptation.

About The Book:
Vic and Melinda Van Allen’s loveless marriage is held together only by a precarious arrangement whereby, in order to avoid the messiness of divorce, Melinda is allowed to take any number of lovers as long as she does not desert her family. Eventually, Vic can no longer suppress his jealousy and tries to win back his wife by asserting himself through a tall tale of murder―one that soon comes true. In this complex portrayal of a dangerous psychosis emerging in the most unlikely of places, Highsmith examines the chilling reality behind the idyllic facade of American suburban life.

It was first scheduled to be released in theaters November 13, 2020 but Covid led to it being delayed. After 2 more release date changes it was pulled from the schedule in December 2021. A few days later it was announced that the movie would be going straight to streaming. The final release date of March 18, 2022 was announced in February 2022.
