Disney+ Goosebumps Adaptation (2024): Everything We Know So Far About The Fun New Series

While the movies didn’t quite take off at the box office, this new Disney+ Goosebumps adaptation will hopefully have all the right pieces in place to bring the beloved kids series to life on screen. About The Book:

Book #1: Lindy names the ventriloquist’s dummy she finds Slappy. Slappy is kind of ugly, but he’s a lot of fun. Lindy’s having a great time learning to make Slappy move and talk. But Kris is jealous of all the attention her sister is getting. It’s no fair. Why does Lindy always have all the luck?Kris decides to get a dummy of her own. She’ll show Kris. Then weird things begin to happen. Nasty things. Evil things. No way a dummy can be causing all the trouble. Or is there?
 
Series: A group of five high schoolers unleash supernatural forces upon their town, now they must work together in order to save it.

This series is in post-production as of Summer 2023.
 

Goosebumps Adaptation Timeline:

In April 2020 it was announced that Scholastic Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television had teamed up with the producers of the 2015 movie and sequel to work on a live-action series adaptation of the Goosebumps books.
The next year it was confirmed by the author that the project was ongoing and had found it’s director.
 
Disney+ picked up the show and gave it a 10-episode order for a first season, which was announced in February 2022. That October the casting announcements were made public with Justin Long, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna, Will Price, Zack Morris, Isa Briones and Rachael Harris all joining the show.
 
Filming also began in October and was expected to last until March 2023.
 

Who Owns The Rights:

Scholastic Entertainment is leading the production, their better-known book publishing division also published the book series. Disney+ is co-producing while also taking on distribution rights.
 

Who Is Attached:

Justin Long, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna, Will Price, Zack Morris, Isa Briones and Rachael Harris have all been cast as the co-leads for the series.
 

Filming Locations:

Filming for the project occurred in various places around British Columbia including Vancouver and Whistler.
 

Estimated Release:

With filming wrapping in Spring 2023, it is likely this series will hit Disney+ in 2024.
