Tiny Beautiful Things Adaptation (2023): Everything We Know So Far About This Fun New Series

When Cheryl Strayed took over as anonymous advice-giver ‘Sugar’ she probably had no idea how long it would go, and especially culminating in this Tiny Beautiful Things adaptation. After revealing her identity there has been podcasts and stage adaptations, but we’ll finally be seeing it on the screen soon enough.

All episodes of the first season were released on Hulu on April 7th, 2023.
 

Tiny Beautiful Things Adaptation Timeline:

Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar was first published in 2012, after the author had spent two years anonymously answering an advice column. A stage adaptation debuted in 2016.
In June 2022 it was announced that Hulu had ordered an eight episode straight to series adaptation with Kathryn Hahn set to star. The next month more casting was announced with Quentin Plair to be a series regular. Filming occurred over the summer months.
 
In December the first pictures were released along with an announcement of a Spring 2023 release.
On January 14th, author Cheryl Strayed announced the series would premier on April 7th.
 
On March 6th the trailer was finally released.
 
The series was nominated for two 2023 Emmy’s, however the award ceremony has been postponed due to the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
 

Where Can I Watch The Series/?

As of July 2023 the limited series is available to stream on Hulu.
 

Reception:

The show currently has a 87% tomatometer and 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. 7.2/10 on IMDb.
Kathryn Hahn and Merritt Wever were both nominated for Emmy’s.
 

Who Owns The Rights:

Hello Sunshine (Reese Witherspoon’s production company) and Jaywalker Pictures (Laura Dern’s production company) are producing the show.
Hulu owns the distribution rights.
 

Who Is Attached:

Katheryn Hahn is set to star with Merritt Wever, Quentin Plair, Elizabeth Hinkler, and Jonathan Stanley have also been cast.
Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern are executive producing.
 

Filming Locations:

The series filmed in Los Angeles, California.
 

Estimated Release:

April 7th, 2023.
